Denise Mcadam Miracle Repair with Argan Oil

Denise Mcadam Miracle Repair with Argan Oil

Hello Lovelies,

When I spotted this bargainous little pot in Tesco a few weeks ago, I snapped up a bottle with mixed feelings. I was hoping it lived up to the standard of Denise’s other products but at the same time, could a <£2 Argan Oil product actually be good?

You might remember it from this post here, where I gave you all a heads up on this bargain

Well I needn’t have worried.

Yes, the weird cat photo is back!

After washing and conditioning, I apply 2-3 light pumps to the ends of my hair, working it up through my mid sections. The ends of my hair are the most porous so they get the most attention. I finish up with running my hands lightly over the top of my hair to sparingly distribute whatever product is left on my hands.

Drying with this product in is a doddle. The ends are super smooth, sleek and glossy and the brush just glides on through. I have noticed a better finished result with this serum than I usually do with Moroccan Oil, despite using it religiously.

Using my Babyliss Big Hair, the ends are more defined and soft than without the product and once my hair is dryed and styled I like to finish the style and seal in a little more moisture with a final application of 1 pump through the ends of my hair. Even on a 2nd day, the hair still feels sleek and smooth on the ends without feeling overloaded, weighed down or greasy. What a godsend!

I am absolutely in awe of this little bottle of miracle oil and I highly recommend you all get out there and track it down in your local Tesco.

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

I have been on the hunt for a cheap yet high quality powder compact to keep in my handbag for touch ups on the go. I have tried the expensive compacts before but I hand on heart have to admit that the beatings my handbags usually take, I’ve trashed more than I have ever finished. High end chemist / drug store brands are the way forward for me.

Have you ever seen the damage a pressed powder can do to the contents of a handbag after its been slung in to the boot of a car or dropped from an airport security conveyor belt? It’s not pretty and no way for a £30 powder to die.

What Katie Did #14

What Katie Did #14

Hello Lovelies,

Have you all had a good week? I’ve been busy as usual, no rest for the wicked they say! I’ve taken on a couple of new clients this week so it means i’ll be busier for the short term but it’s all good isn’t it!

Friday saw myself and Kathryn of Miss Kathryns Miss takes being whisked over to be VIP guests of Jacamo at their store launch in Gateshead where we got to meet the ever so lovely Freddie Flintoff and Steve Harmison who are both top notch cricket players. As usual with these kind of events we had a great opportunity to view the store and meet the wonderful staff who work behind the scenes and of course the branch staff who were all so sweet. Of course it wouldn’t have been a trip to a shop without spending some pennies and this time the very lucky Mr Tramp for a bag full of new shirts. Mr Tramp probably isn’t in the Jacamo main demographic but he is long in the body so I am very pleased to be able to buy him M/L shirts in longer length!

Saturday then saw me zooming down the motorway to Middlesbrough with Daniella to visit the girls at the new Benefit counter in Debenhams and be their guest for the day. We had a grand old time with them all, it was a great concession stand and I hope they did well in trying to beat their world record of most waxes done in one day across the whole Benefit company.

Not only did we go on a little car adventure to see Benefit, we were also lucky enough to have our brows tackled. My pathetic blonde eyebrows were waxed, tweezed and dyed to within an inch of their life and after having our make up re-done we left the store feeling like the best looking ladies in the Boro!

Nice quiet week ahead of me thankfully. Just as well as i’m smashing on with my C25K journey and it’s going well!

On with the pictures!

If you missed it this week, I reviewed a Taillissime Blazer, I changed the ways you can follow me, reviewed some lovely Hairtrade Hair Extensions as well as MUA’s fantastic new Lip Booms.

Have a lovely week ahead of you and I will catch you all next Sunday.

Taillissime blazer jacket

Taillissime blazer jacket

Hello Lovelies,

Some eagle eyed folk might have spotted me wearing a gorgeous black blazer style jacket in a few of my What Katie Did posts.. well… I’m about to tell you what I’ve been wearing!

The jacket in question is from One Stop Plus and is the Taillissime long sleeved jacket with tailored collar – aka blazer (to me anyway). The jacket was £49 and it is made really well. For some reason, when I chose it, I didn’t look at the fabric listing. I was expecting it to be a nylon-y suit material but when it arrived I was very pleased to see it was almost a very thick t-shirt / hoody fabric.

Once on, the jacket is so soft and comfortable to wear it’s unreal. It’s like wearing a posh slouchy hoody yet still looking kick ass and on trend! I do a lot of driving and I am constantly travelling about so it’s been a god send to throw on during journeys to look polished without getting creased but at the same time looks equally as funky with jeans and a top.

With the weather being so hit and miss lately I’ve been wearing the jacket for work and keeping it on through out the day. It’s that touch warmer than a cardie but not as hot or cumbersome as a coat. Best of both worlds right?!

One thing I really strongly recommend is to check the sizing before you buy this jacket, should I convince you too (go on… buy it!). I personally feel it runs a little small on the sizing but thanks to the fabric you are given that little bit of stretch. The good thing about the One Stop Plus website is that is shows the measurements per size so to avoid confusion you can first. I ordered the jacket at the very beginning of my weight loss journey and even though I have now dropped several dress sizes, this jacket doesn’t show that so I’d imagine if possible you might need to size up if you can (it only goes up to a 26 i’m afraid).

DON’T ask about the horn gesture… long embarassing story will ensue!

I personally like to wear this to smarten up my more ‘alternative’ outfits with a turn up in the sleeves, such as a rock t shirt, skinny jeans and some Chucky T’s. This just adds a smattering of smart casual style. It makes me feel refined and pulled together more than a cardie or leather jacket would.

I am attending a few events this weekend which are casual so no doubt you’ll see this blazer crop up on them unless the weather drastically improves!

How would you wear a blazer? Casual or smart?

* This blazer was kindly gifted to me for review purposes but it has not influenced my opinion at all.
