Dr T’s Supergoop! Acai Fusion Lip Balm

Dr T’s Supergoop! Acai Fusion Lip Balm

Hello Lovelies,

On a recent trawl around Space N.K, I found myself drawn to the Supergoop! display after seeing it crop up once or twice on my Instagram.

As I’m new to the brand, I thought it was safest to start with a lip balm. Retailing for £8 for 0.5 fl oz at Space NK and elsewhere for around the same price.

Presented in a clean and fresh white tube, the cute cartoon like logo for Supergoop! Stands out along with the bold yellow stripe. This is mirrored across the rest of the brands products I love the packaging and branding as some tubes can be minimalistic and look cheap or too busy and tacky. I think Supergoop! Have pitched it spot on… my personal opinion of course.
Not only does the lip balm have an impressive, mostly, natural ingredients list, the balm also provides an SPF30 protection thanks to actibe sunscreens within the balm. The balm itself is of a pale pink colour with a light coconutty, fruity smell which delicately lingers on the lips. The consistency, on application, entirely reminds me of applying a silicone face primer in that it smooths on effortlessly and smoothly and doesn’t feel heavy or tacky. This isn’t a surprise as one of the ingredients is a silicone, albeit quite far down the ingredients list.
I find this balm lasts on my lips a fair old while, giving soothing, hydrating moisture and slip to my lips which makes it great as a lipstick base or a delicate balm to wear over the top. If you prefer a balm product that you can feel on your lips or get a higher gloss shine from, this probably isn’t the product for you. If you are after an almost undetectable, light balm which doesn’t interfere with lippies or need touching up every half an hour… this is definitely for you!

Thanks to the weather in England at the minute, I haven’t really had call to test out the SPF qualities but I shall definitely be taking this little gem on holiday with me in August as I know I’ll need some SPF protection for my lips in the heat as my lips always get very dehydrated, no matter how much water I drink or product I use!

£8 for a lip balm may seen excessive to some and it is, but I am a firm believer of buying quality and I would not hesitate to re-purchase this. I will also be hunting out more of the Supergoop! Brand and see how it sits with my hypersensitive skin.

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation

Bourjois 123 Foundation

If you follow me on Twitter you’ll know I’ve been suffering with erratic allergy breakouts on my face recently and I’ve been struggling to find a great foundation that hasn’t made it worse.

My skin has been red raw in parts, lumpy and even more sensitive than usual and no matter what foundation I have tried, from Bourjois to Benefit to Chanel + Estee Lauder have all been oxidising and seperating to some degree making me look unsightly. I’ve spent a shed load trying lots of foundations to try and sort out my skin woes. When I haven’t been at work I’ve been taking the fresh air approach but sometimes make up is needed!

I must say Bourjois Healthy Mix + Serum has been a god send for light coverage on good days while Estee Lauder double wear was great when my skin was at its worst. This brought me to try the new 123 Perfect foundation from Bourjois as I usually get on so well with their Healthy Mix and their Healthy Mix + Serum.

Hello Lovelies,

Have we all had a good week?

The weather has been a bit crap hasn’t it?! The only downside to living in the middle of the countryside is flash flooding of country roads! Boo! Luckily me and my cars can swim! Ha!

Blown away by Bare Minerals

Blown away by Bare Minerals

Hello Lovelies,

Have you ever loved everything from a certain brand and then they’ve brought something new out and you’ve hated it?
That’s what I was worried about with the Bare Minerals READY range. A new line of pressed powders, blushes and eyeshadows.

I was very dubious of whether they would live up to the high standard of the Bare Minerals loose products as I am a big fan and of course their skincare is exceptionally good as well. It could have gone either way really, couldn’t it? I have been hesitant to order any of the Ready line until I could get to a counter and have a play.

Now don’t let me mislead you, this post isn’t all doom and gloom. Last night I finally got to have a closer inspection of the READY line and OH.MY.WORD. I cannot begin to explain how pigmented and buttery soft the eyeshadow quads I tried were. Even the white, which is quite often a hard colour to pull off, pigmentation wise, was just gorgeous and bold.

My favourite has to be the The Soundtrack 4.0 eyeshadow quad and The Top Shelf 2.0 eyeshadow duo. The colours, depth, finish and quality just truly blew me away. It was love at first swipe!

The Soundtrack 4.0 quad

Priced at £29 for the quad and £19 for the duo, which is a LOT more than I was expecting but now that I have seen the quality for myself, I can say the eyeshadows are worth every penny. A little will go a very long way so they will be long lasting.

For convenience, as I travel a lot, I never take any Bare Minerals loose products away with me but now I can, from the Ready range!

I must admit though, I found the blushes to be a little bit underwhelming, but that’s probably more down to my own personal preference of liking bold blushes that you need a light hand for, rather than building a subtle colour up. 6 and 2 three’s really I dare say!

Keep your eyes peeled for some colour swatches coming soon of the eyeshadows!

Have you tried the new Ready range? Do you prefer loose or pressed products?
