We have visited Alcatraz before and were blown away. The most infamous prison in the world sits within the National Park Service and is ran as a museum and tourist attraction.
The only way to get to The Rock is by boat so I had to put my brave girl pants on and step on board.
We recently spent a few nights at the Courtyard at Fishermans Wharf to start off our huge American road trip.
With close proximity to tourist attractions and parking available, it was a sure fire winner….
I recently whisked my Mam away to Amsterdam for a weekend adventure to not only celebrate Mothers Day, but her 63rd Birthday which fell at the same time too.
We went on a DFDS Mini Cruise for £79 (£99 including transfers) and spent a few hours just wandering round central Amsterdam…. There’s not many words to go with this post… and not many photos either as we just enjoyed having some quality Mother Daughter time… and a few naughty giggles at the shop windows!

It’s fast approaching my trip to Amsterdam with my Mam for our birthdays. As you will remember from my post HERE about being scared of boats, now I have conquered this fear, I consider myself an official sailor.
Given that some of my most memorable holidays have included a boat ride, I definitely think a city cruise around Amsterdam is in order to see all the sites but I have been grilling everyone for their top must-see’s in Amsterdam……
85ft under the oh so cool Ouseburn lies the Victoria Tunnel.
Built and opened in 1842, the former wagon way is now a volunteer led tourist attraction and we visited on Halloween for a spooky tour.
