Turtle Bay – Newcastle

Turtle Bay Newcastle Review

Once an icon of Newcastle city centre, the Co Op building is currently undergoing a makeover to turn it in to a hotel as well as dining venues. As a national chain, Turtle Bay brings a taste of the Caribbean to our fair city after a £800,000 investment.

Thaikhun Restaurant Review

In the last month or so there has been a huge burst of launches at the Qube dining area of the Intu Metrocentre in Gateshead. The latest launch of the bunch is Thaikhun.

Barca Art Bar & Restaurant – Tynemouth

Barca Tynemouth

Bit out of our stomping ground but as Paul’s Dad lives in Tynemouth, we made the trip North for a good old fashioned Sunday Roast at Barca.

Barca Art Bar & Restaurant is slap bang amongst the action in the middle of Front Street with a cosy, quirky bar downstairs and a more spacious and even quirkier dining room upstairs. With an obvious nod to the Art part of the name, the walls are lined with pieces from local artists both for display and sale.
