Road Trippin’ – The Perfect Car

2016 Chevrolet Tahoe 3

If you can remember THIS post back in October last year, or if you follow me on Twitter you will know we are embarking on a massive West Coast American Road Trip in May and we need the perfect car.

We have finished with the bulk of the planning, the hotels have all been planned and booked and now we are working on itineraries.

The most important part is the car though, right?

We have done an American Road Trip before, covering a large portion of Route 66 and hired a gorgeous Mustang but things need to get practical this time. Gone for 3 weeks, with huge cases and thousands and thousands of miles means we needed something a bit bigger.

Road Trippin and Californian Dreamin

Big trucks are what American’s do oh so right. We had to come up with a car we were both happy to drive and without question it had to be something a little bit interesting, no standard saloons for us! The Ford F150 would be the dream but with a flat bed, the practicality aspect just isn’t there so we have hired this….

2016 Chevrolet Tahoe

The brand new 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe via Alamo. I particularly like it as reminds me completely of one of my favourite bands – A.

It boasts a 5.3l V8 Engine that will thankfully handle everything we throw at it, from the coastal routes of the Pacific Highway to the dry Death Valley to tearing up the tarmac on Route 66 then soaring high up in to the Rockies.

Don’t get me wrong, the Mustang was incredible to drive with the roof down but it definitely got to the point where it was too hot for that. The Tahoe provides the reliability and the comfort we need for spending the vast majority of our time in the car and still having plenty of space for luggage and all the gubbins we amass on the way.

We are going to feel like gangster rappers driving round in this big beast of a perfect car!

This looks amazing! I can’t remember what car we are hiring for our trip but it’s something similar to handle the routes we will be tackling. Only for the last few days will we get a convertible Mustang for the Pacific West Coast drive down. Any tips for driving around in the cities? I’m fine about the straight routes but I’m nervous leaving LAX to get to Hollywood!

I could get Paul to put something together and either post it, or send it over to you? K x
