Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment

I was pretty late to the Glamglow party as I am very hesitant to try new things on my sensitive skin but I finally succumbed thanks to a very bargain price for the smaller pot at Sephora in New York!

Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland, Durham

Lord Crewe Arms, Blanchland, Durham

Today, I am going to share my visit to the Lord Crewe Arms pub and hotel in Blanchland. Situated a short hop from Derwent Reservoir in the Durham countryside, you may remember the name of the village from my review of the White Monk Tea Room.

After undergoing a huge £1.5m renovation, the Lord Crewe Arms re-opened in 2014 with a beautiful restaurant and luxurious rooms.

Good bye 2014 and Hello to my 2015 Happiness Jar

Good bye 2014 and Hello to my 2015 Happiness Jar

Hello Lovelies,

I hope you all had a good festive period and you are ready to start a new year so far?

Paul and I have been incredibly lucky to do some amazing things both personally and professionally in 2014 but it is all bitter sweet as we lost my beloved Grandma so close to Christmas.

I don’t believe in this whole New Year, New Me pressure or setting resolutions. I make my personal and professional attainable goals list instead. A bit more like a to-do list, without the drama.

One thing I am going to be doing in 2015 is taking more time to enjoy the smaller things in life and to help with this, I am starting a happiness jar.

Using a jar or box, the idea is to write down a brief note every time something good happens or makes you happy. Little simple things you could easily over look. You collect these up over the year on on New Years Eve you open the jar and read back through them all.

My jar is a retro cut glass decanter that used to be my Grandma’s but it is looking a little sorry for itself at the moment, all empty and forlorn but I am confident it will fill up soon.

Whatever you plan for 2015, don’t forget to be the very best version of yourself.

Festive Cheer and a Caring Ear

Festive Cheer and a Caring Ear

Hello Lovelies,

Merry Christmas from the Tramp clan here from our corner of the interwebs.

I am very lucky to be spending the day with my family but I am fully aware not everyone is in that position.

Christmas and New Year can be so lonely and a lot of situations always seem to come to head.

It is my 3rd Christmas without my Dad and after losing my very special Grandma 3 weeks ago, it is a very bitter sweet time for Mam and I and I know we will need to lean on each other, and of course my husband Paul to get through the sadness we will feel.

I would like to put a number here for any one that needs someone to talk to. It’s the Samaritans.

08457 90 90 90 or you can check other ways to get in touch HERE

The wonderful Kellie over at Big Fashionista has prepared a much longer list of help points so please do take a look, if you find yourself needing to talk to someone.

I hope 2014 has been kind and you find whatever it is you need in 2015.

All our love and wishes

Katie & Paul
