Olaplex Treatment

I have processed blonde hair and I am ok to admit that. It has been over fried in it’s time but it is slowly and surely getting back to tip top condition thanks to rigorous TLC.

When I first learned about Olaplex, it was from watching the incredible Guy Tang’s videos and marvelling at his colour work. So as I can’t travel to America for a dye job, I wanted to get a little bit of that care and restorative goodness for myself.

When I found a local salon that stocked Olaplex I hot footed it over

Last weekend, fellow blogging babe Vicky and I headed to Bobble in Jesmond. Bobble is a cute, chic converted coach house tucked away in a walled courtyard on Clayton Road.

Settling in with a glass of fizz and some good old girly chatter, we had the Olaplex Treatment (£35) applied and were left to “brew” to really reap the most from the process.

If you aren’t aware of what Olaplex is, it is a restorative treatment to repair broken bonds in the make up of the hair shaft as a result of heat and chemical damage.

Whilst primarily added to colours to help keep the integrity of the hair, the process can be applied independently in salon and then topped up with a take home portion of the 3 step system.

After a soothing head massage and a gorgeous glam bouncy blow dry we left the salon flicking our hair as if our life depended on it. The ladies (and gent) in the salon were super adorable and chatted as if you were long lost friends. No one asked me if I was going on holiday this year which is the ultimate dreaded salon banter isn’t it? I left the salon slightly tipsy from my fizz but feeling more like I’d spent an afternoon with my girlies rather than being in hairdressers.

I was dubious of how this much heralded treatment would actually fair but the results really only became apparent when I washed and styled my hair myself. The top half of my hair is like silk. It is so incredibly soft and smooth. The damaged ends have improved ten fold in their appearance and texture. A long way from totally eradicating the damage but hopefully with another treatment, the damage will be negligable.

If you get the chance to have Olaplex added to your colour or like me, have it as a stand alone treatment I highly recommend it. You will be very impressed!
