A Stag Do In Newcastle

Newcastle

Newcastle has always had a bit of a reputation for being a great night out – it’s got a huge range of fab nightclubs and bars with a Northern price tag. Known to many as the setting for the eponymous Geordie Shore, there’s so much more than just fake tan and cheap vodka. It’s a city brimming with history, art, and easy access to the beautiful Northumbrian countryside. If you’re planning a stag do in Newcastle, you won’t be alone, as it’s one of the top 10 destinations in the UK. Here’s some ideas to get you started.

Solano’s, Newcastle

Solanos Newcastle

Tucked away on Amen Corner, Solano’s is the latest member of the Newcastle foodie scene.

Bringing a little taste of South America to the North East, the venture is the first Peruvian restaurant outside of London and takes its name from the famous Peruvian NUFC footballer Nolberto Solano. Whilst good old Nobby is not actually involved, the 3 joint owners (Chris Levee, Alfonso Yanez and Linda Deacon) gave a nod to the footballer after investing £100,000 in to the restaurant prior to launch.

Exit Newcastle Escape Room

Exit Newcastle Escape Room

Have you heard of live action escape games? No? Neither had I until recently but if you are old enough to remember the Crystal Maze then you wouldn’t be far off the mark. EXIT Newcastle is Newcastle’s finest offering.

Don’t worry…. There’s no spoiler alerts….. although this could well be my most vague review to date.

Brunch at Chez Mal Brasserie, Newcastle

Brunch at Chez Mal Brasserie, Newcastle

The biggest brunch on the scene is at the recently re-launched Chez Mal Brasserie at the Malmaison Hotel. Offering a whopping 4 courses for £19.99, the hotel has brought destination dining to the Quayside. Once only a mainstay with residents, the brunch brings in a whole new clientele looking to fill their plates with foodie perfection without emptying their wallets.

Social dining has really taken off in Newcastle of late and brunch is fast moving up the popularity ranks of places to go and be seen – only here is it acceptable to have a cocktail with your scrambled eggs!
