A taste of Brazil lands in Newcastle

Do you like meat? Do you like an abundance of meat brought to your table and carved fresh in front of you? Read on them as Viva Brazil is the place for you!

The samba sounds of Brazil will soon be heard on the shores of the River Tyne as the award winning restaurant chain Viva Brazil opens in Newcastle this summer. Located on Grey Street, the new restaurant and bar will bring a £750,000 investment to the area and will open its doors in mid-July. It will seat 140 people and create 30 new jobs.

Viva Brazil is an authentic-style Brazilian steak house that offers a dining experience dating back hundreds of years to the tastes of the cowboys of Southern Brazil.

As part of the dynamic experience, professional passadors will move from table to table, expertly hand carving a fine selection of slow-cooked meats from large skewers in front of customers. In total, there are over 15 delicious cuts for meat fiends to try.

Complementing these delicious meats will be an exclusive salad bar offering a range of freshly prepared salads and vegetables, as well as an exciting variety of hot Brazilian dishes, fruit, cold meat and sauces.

The restaurant will also have a large bar serving a wide range of drinks and cocktails. Top of the list for any newcomers is the traditional Brazilian cocktail, Caipirinha, made using locally sourced cachaça rum, freshly squeezed limes and sugar.  The restaurant and bar will also boast a unique wine selection with options from across the whole of Latin America.

Viva Brazil first opened in Liverpool in September 2010. Following its tremendous success, restaurants have since launched in Glasgow and Cardiff, where they have also enjoyed immense popularity. Newcastle is set to be the restaurant’s fourth site with a further restaurant opening in Birmingham later this year.

Owner and managing director of the Viva Brazil chain, Andy Aldrich, said: “Following the success of Viva Brazil in other UK cities, we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our award winning concept to Newcastle, where we are confident that people will also fall inlove with the brand, our offer, and the personal service which we give.”

Andy added: “Viva Brazil brings the vibrant fever of Brazil to life by giving you more of everything – the finest locally sourced foods, the most varied menu, and a unique and lively atmosphere for friends and families to wine and dine in.

“We hope that the people of Newcastle are quick to embrace Viva Brazil and become part of our expanding family.”

I truly hope the restaurant does well in Newcastle as it is so pleasing to see such diverse cuisines finally coming to Newcastle. There is life outside of London after all and one more restaurant to increase our already tremendous foodie scene is always good!

    Awesome!

Since Escobars relocated then closed there has been a lack of OTT Rodizio in my life. Must go here. Any ideas when it opens?
