I was pretty late to the Glamglow party as I am very hesitant to try new things on my sensitive skin but I finally succumbed thanks to a very bargain price for the smaller pot at Sephora in New York!

Boots Seventeen Rock Hard Couture Nail Effects

Boots Seventeen Rock Hard Couture Nail Effects

Hello Lovelies,

Normally, I don’t fall quite so hard in love with a nail polish but this beauty is the exception.

I bought Bijoux Baby on a whim in Boots the other day as everything was buy 1 get a 2nd half price, so I thought for half price I’d give it a punt.

In the bottle, it doesn’t look like something I would ever consider. It’s a peachy pink and then running through it is the most pretty, complex glitter I have seen in a long while. Green toned gold, rose gold, peach and pink shimmer glitter brings this textured polish ALIVE.

It’s fully opaque in 2 coats and has a rough texture to it. Nothing a good top coat couldn’t solve.

I am having my nails done tonight so I shall be taking this with me and not letting the bottle out of my sight. I swatch all my polishes on blanks and was just so captivated I had to share!

It doesn’t photo as well as I would like but I think even though a couple are out of focus, these photos show all the colours. It’s a true real life beauty.

For £3.99, available from Boots, I think I will be hot footing it back for all the colours.

I’m even sitting at my desk now marvelling at the prettiness of the polish on the nail blank.

Keep an eye out on Instagram for some snaps tonight of this on my nails.

Beetox Manuka Honey + Bee Venom serum review + giveaway [CLOSED]

Beetox Manuka Honey + Bee Venom serum review + giveaway [CLOSED]

Hello Lovelies,

There’s one thing I usually shy away featuring on my website and that’s facial skin care. Mostly because I find it so prescriptive to each individual, I don’t feel best placed to tell you what to buy, I can only share my experiences of having hypersensitive dehydrated skin.

With that said, one product has been earnings its keep lately and that is the Manuka Honey + Bee venom facial serum from Beetox. Priced at £45 for 30ml
I have been using the serum on a night time, just before bed. I thoroughly double cleanse my skin, apply a dash of Hydraluron then layer on the serum. I find this to be more than sufficient for my skin to keep it replenished and plumped. I have been using the serum for a few weeks now and I am absolutely loving it. I can particularly tell the difference on my forehead and around by eye sockets. The skin just looks a bit fresher, a bit more ‘alive’ and as someone else worded.. juicy. Not sure if that’s worrying or not !!
The honey provides an anti bacterial, almost medicinal layer to the skin which can help a wide range of skin complaints. The Bee venom penetrates the layers of skin to tackle those age wrinkles (I don’t have any yet!) and fine lines.
My sensitive skin has not flared up at all since using the serum which is fantastic news for all you sensitive skinned ladies out there. I have not had any breakouts since using this either, touch wood, its obviously doing my skin wonders.
I have found the serum to be light and it’s as though you can feel it nourishing the skin as it sinks in which can’t be a bad thing. I personally don’t use this product during the day but there is absolutely no reason why not, it would be perfect for under make up as it doesn’t leave you greasy or tacky. Thanks to the handy pipette, you can also apply directly to your face without using too much product.
The only mild downside I can find for this product, and I am nitpicking here is the smell. I don’t like anything honey related or royale jelly scented. I hate it and this is very very similar and while it did initially put me off, its not an offending smell. And for the results, I am more than happy to put up with it for a couple of minutes every day until it dries down. Husband is a proper honey monster and he likes the smell, so just use this as a word of warning.
As with all honey and bee related products, please please do a very small patch test on your skin to see if you are allergic before you apply to your face as I’d hate for my readers to suffer reactions!

As I love the Beetox Manuka Honey + Bee Venom Serum so much, I have 1 bottle to give away to one of my beautiful followers.

It will be all WHITE on the night with Scott Cornwall

It will be all WHITE on the night with Scott Cornwall

Hello Lovelies,

As you all know, I’m a bit of a sucker for my hair to be icy white and as cool as my cold stone heart (lol) but if you have ever been on this quest, you’ll know how hard it is to banish those pesky warm tones.

Thankfully I’m a natural blonde so I don’t have too much to contend with but unless I go to a salon….. reaching the perfect cool tones at home is bloody tiresome.

scott-cornwall-colour-restore-iced-platinum-hair-toner-100ml

This is where Scott Cornwalls Colour Restore comes in. It has truly transformed my hair routine and I will not be parted from my trusty tube! Priced at £11.99, you can buy it from exclusively from Boots, www.keepmeinspired.co.uk or directly from the Scott Cornwall Website HERE which accepts a myriad of different payment types including Paypal which gets a humungous thumbs up from me!

Depending on your desired results, the handy, simple instructions give you 3 different ways to tone your hair. A rinse through for subtle toning, a medium length tone for mid level changes and an intensive tone for the full effect.

Ice Platinum promises to do the following wonderful things :

Banishes Yellow and Brassy tones in bleached or highlighted hair.
  • Creates cool to pure white tones
  • Replenishes cool tones in highlighted hair
  • Restores and replenishes hair without the need for a peroxide or ammonia based colourant
  • Can be used frequently and safely to keep that desired cool or pure white tone without damaging the hair.
Does it do that? YES!!
I like to apply the Restore to the top half of my hair and slather the ends with my favourite deep conditioner. I leave the products on between 5-10 minutes depending on how much time I have.
I’m left with gorgeously smooth, cool toned hair with no purple in sight. Yes, purple peril is a danger for all us white hair wonders. As a point of warning, if you have not used a toning product before, be prepared for purpley grey foam and a delightful grey scum ring in the bath from the bath water. It doesn’t stain and is 110% removable, it just doesn’t look very nice!
Since last summer I have been leaving a lot more of my natural blonde to intermingle because I have been disappointed with most comparable products but not any more. 2013 is going to see the return of my white blonde hair and thanks to Scott Cornwall, I will be able to get salon results at home!!!
Money saving!
Colour Restore is also available in ash blonde & red too but as you can imagine, I haven’t actually tried those!

Dr Renaud Hydrating Raspberry Soft Mask

Dr Renaud Hydrating Raspberry Soft Mask

Hello Lovelies,

I will hold my hands up, with real life getting in the way of my blog life and the pressures put on me, I have neglected trying this product to it’s fullest.

My poor skin has been looking appallingly dry, dehydrated and sallow of late so I thought enough enough and on with the mask! Applying the mask is an absolute delight.

The light, fruity scent is very natural and not overpoweringly synthetic and is a cooling, thick, creamy formula. Not too unlike rubbing a posh yoghurt on your face… in the nicest possible way – honest. It’s lovely!

I left the mask on for the full recommended time and then rinsed off. What was left behind was plump, hydrated skin that had lost that horrid grey tinge to it!

Thankfully, being hypersensitive, I have not had any reactions to the mask nor any breakouts as this doesn’t have any harsh astringents or purifying properties that would draw the nasties out of hiding.

I am very careful about what kind of face products I use, and rightly so, but this definitely gets a stamp of approval for sensitive skin that’s lacking in lustre. You can buy the Dr Renauds mask on the Dr Renaud website for £19.45 and also on the M&S website, but it is slightly more expensive but if you’re putting an order in for clothes, why not! Worth every single penny!
