There’s few nicer things in life than getting a new handbag. Trends may come and go but buying quality, staple pieces will form the very capsule bag wardrobe. That’s why, time and time again I revert back to my beautifully handmade bags from Zatchels. The latest member of the family is a Zatchels Classic Oxblood Saddle Bag and boy is it lush.

I already have a few different colours of the Saddles, as well as a satchel and I simply cannot fault the quality. Each item is hand made to order so you know you are getting the highest of quality possible. The hardware and workmanship is impeccable. Sometimes, the contact once you place order is a little lacking but the team is spot on on Social Media if you need to get in touch. Once I even asked for a photo of the colour of a leather in daylight and they sorted me out without blinking an eye!

I picked up the large Classic Oxblood Saddle Bag just before Christmas and 1 for my Mam too. Customisation is offered free of charge so I always like to ensure there’s a cute message on a gift or a little saying on my own purchases. On this beauty, I had my full name etched on, just so I don’t forget who I am!

Crafted from thick sturdy leather, these bags look their best once they are used and bumped around a bit. The leather softens and takes on a life of its own, making each bag unique. They wear and soften in different ways depending on the colour and finish. My pewter metallic bag looks more distressed after years of use but my brown one still looks pristine after a couple of years.

I prefer the large size as you can fit more ‘junk’ inside of it. The bag isn’t too deep but you can fit your daily bits and bobs in without shadow of a doubt – trust me, I’m a hoarder!

The Zatchels Classic Oxblood Saddle Bag is just an effortless bag to sling over your shoulder and head out the door. The straps can be word on the shoulder or across body for versatility and as there is 21 different colours, there’s something for EVERY outfit, occasion or season.

I love these bags for travelling as they are safe and sturdy. I just wish my camera fit in side!

Wow, I really love this bag! I saw you had more posts on Zatchels purses (My Travel Essentials, Sales Bargains etc.) but when I opened them the images were broken and I couldn’t see what the bags look like 🙁

Thanks for the heads up – sadly it is historic content so things have gone a bit awry. On the case now though….

Thanks a lot for an interesting review. I also want to buy this bag, but I am not sure in color. Could you, please, advise me, is it more red or brown? Is the color the same as on your photo? Is it cold or warm? Thanks a lot for for your help!

      Hi,

The photos are pretty true to the real colour of the bag, it is a warm toned deep red.
