In my younger years, I’d not think twice about dying my hair a neon rainbow but these days as much as my heart pines for unicorn hair, the sensible side of me says no.
The High Voltage Hair Pop Paint (£7.99) solved all these problems.
Available from ASOS, the Pop Paints from Pimps + Pinups have rocked my socks. With an epic salon in both London AND New York, these mavericks of awesomeness have expanded their portfolio to include products like the Pop Paints, shampoo and conditioner.
As much as I would kill for some rose gold victory rolls, I settled for a unicorn fringe and some bold streaks through my blonde.
Applying very wetly from a spray, you do need to be careful as they go everywhere (I now have pink blinds in my dining room!) but once they dry down, the chalky paint has incredible staying power and keeps the neon vibrancy until you wash it out. You can brush the hair and style it as normal which is the great difference from cheaper high street hair sprays and chalks.
The colours are relatively waterproof and wont transfer or rub out until you give your hair a good wash. Perfect for not being frightened to get caught in the rain!
With delicate peach to lime green and white, you can mix and match to your hearts content. As I have blonde hair, the white isn’t overly useful to me but it did help make the bold colours even brighter on my brunette guinea pig, using it as a basecoat.
I got fancy and mixed a squirt of white and lime green in my hands to make a mint which I then scrunched on to the ends of my hair. Which the husband failed to photo! Boo!
