Our office party this year has a Hollywood Glamour theme so I have been hunting high and low for the perfect dress (since we booked it in March!) but nothing jumped out at me. I wanted it to be a little unique but not so glitzy that I couldn’t wear it again.
Then the Jameela Jamil collection launched for Simply Be and I fell in love…..
If you didn’t know, Jameela Jamil is a broadcaster and columnist and just an all round awesome lady. Her collection for Simply Be ticks all my boxes and I’d be tempted to buy it all! I was dubious of how a “non plus sized” celeb would handle a range for 14-32 market but it is just spot on. It’s not frumpy or immature, it’s just perfect and refined.
I have bought the Ponte Midi dress (£60) and it is so classy. It falls to the knee but the sheer panel around the edge makes it look a little racy with a flash of thigh. The net sleeves offer a solution to my dreaded bingo wings and the whole cut of the dress just feels expensive.
I had initially thought that £60 for a dress made out of glorified t-shirt fabric was a bit steep but it is beautifully cut and abundant in fabric making the skirt feel flowy and swishy.
I am in love and I’d wear it every day if I could!
