Last week I was very kindly invited along to the Gary Hedley salon in Newcastle again to check out the new Paul Mitchell Christmas gift offerings and have a dry style done.
The salon was bedecked suitably for the festive season and as I took my seat at a station, I was suddenly surrounded by glorious twinkly lights, scented candles and a glass of orange juice. Not going to lie, the oily topless waiter was a bit off putting again but at least there was only 1 this time to contend with! Can I request a manly Ricki Hall or Vin Diesel look a like next time please?
As my lovely stylist got to work creating a master piece on my napper, I perused the gifting catalogue and picked out my favourites.
The gift sets are limited edition and come with super cute art which was specially commissioned for the gift sets by Sarah Hankinson who has had worked featured in Vogue, Harperz Bazaar and Harrods.
The Art of Style (£27) comes in a little pouch and contains an Awapuhi Shampoo, The Detangler and Sculpting Foam
Not to mention the cuuuute pet gift too from the John Paul pet diffusion line! oh my!
When asked what I wanted my hair to look like, I gave the vague brief of a “plaity updo thing maybe if you like?”. I left it at that and settled in the for ride. The finished result was a tousled braided crown and textured lengths. I LOVED it. Truly. Providing I can master the braid myself it is one of those hair styles you can take from the office to the pub or party with no extra effort. I think I am going to try to recreate this for my office party and maybe lash some glitter spray on to the braid for that extra blingy crown look.
I sadly didn’t get many good pictures of my hair! Boo!
