Create your own nail polish with Illamasqua and Selfridges

Hello Lovelies,  I was having a little trawl on the Selfridges website to see what cheeky gifts I could buy myself in the run up to Christmas when I laid eyes on the most ingenious and extravagant gift from Illamasqua. For £300 you can be involved, from start to finish, in the creative process with the brand to invent your own nail polish.

Brainstorm – 45mins  The blurb from the Selfridges website :  That fabulous colour that you’ve always dreamt of but never been able to quite match? The Illamasqua ‘Design By You’ nail polish gift box offers a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a stunning nail polish dreamt by you, created by Illamasqua, in the colour and finish of your choosing. Illamasqua’s award-winning, long-lasting, hyper pigmented Nail Varnish formula is an industry favourite.  You will work closely with Illamasqua’s innovating Director of Product Development David Horne to make your vision a reality and create ten stunning Limited Edition bottles of your exclusive enamel and see how a Nail Varnish goes from concept to creation. Your shade will be developed over three creative sessions at Illamasqua’s School of Make-up Art in London. One on one sessions will be held with the Director of Product Development David Horne. Within this session you will discuss with David your ideas for your personal shade and David will help you to bring this to a reality by discussing the freedoms and possible limitations of new product design.

At the end of this brainstorm session you will have agreed on a target shade to be briefed to go in to further development to achieve a 1st sample.

Please ensure to bring along your gift [the empty bottles], which you will hand over at the end of the session to David so that the bottles can be filled.

Review – 45mins

At this session you will have your 1st sample prototypes to test out! You and David will review and work on any amends that you may want to put forward. The 1st sample will be rebriefed to the laboratory to amend or enhance your sample.

Final Review – 45mins

At this final session you will have the opportunity to select your final shade that will then go in to immediate production!
