Winter is that time of year where the moisture in my skin just vanishes. I think it takes a winter sun holiday and just leaves me behind. I think a combination of long sleeves, boots and thicker trousers all just take their toll on my extremities.
I have tried many body butters, sprays, lotions, potions and magical treats for my skin but I just don’t enjoy the feeling of either applying them or them being on my skin. Especially as I find the thicker the product the more cloying and sickly the scent it. I think it is linked with the luxe factor, which for me is a big no no as I like my products to be fragranced but not give me a headache, especially when my skin heats up and releases more scent.
Every year without fail I buy a body butter from the Body Shop. Sometimes I stock up during online sales or visit one of my local outlet shopping parks for some cut price Body Shop items (Check for your nearest, you can save up to 50%!). Tried and tested you know you are getting a nourishing, high quality butter that is the perfect mix of luxury and practicality.
This year, I am using the Mango Body Butter, a Body Shop best seller, as the weather starts to turn. The light texture of the butter is thick enough to feel moisturised immediately but sinks in without leaving a filmy residue. The moisturisation comes from the butters Cocoa Butter content. The scent is clean and fresh without smelling over synthesised and ‘cheap’. My pot looks a little worse for wear already as I have scooped some out in to smaller pots sample pots for my desk at work, for Mr Tramp,for my travel wash bag, for my handbag and I keep a little pot in my car as I always seem to get dry hands on long journeys!
The great thing about the Body Shop is that they are usually really great at giving samples of products you might love when you make a purchase or sometimes have them by the tills to just help yourself. These little snap cap pots are PERFECT for decanting your big body butters in to for travel etc.
The mango body butter smells of summer and is a great pick me up for this time of year, well timed as the snow has already started to fall up here in NE England!
