On whole, I’m not a great fan of hand cream because I have continually tried to find a good one but have been left disappointed. Either too greasy, not nourishing enough or the smell is rank.
Due to my job, I like a fast acting, quick to soak in, thick nourishing hand lotion.
The one I return to, time after time is L’Occitane Shea Butter Dry Skin hand cream. Priced at £8 for 30ml (or £19 for 150ml), it is quite expensive but for something this effective, I don’t mind this, especially as the oil paint-esque tube means you can eek out every single drop.
With a high percentage of Shea Butter at 20%, the cream leaves my dry palms velvet soft and the cream itself smells of baby lotion. It is a totally inoffensive, light scent. It is perfect if you spend long periods outdoors as it is gentle but hard working on chapped skin – just what you need coming in to the winter.
If you keep your eyes peeled, this sometimes crops up as a free gift with a magazine which is exactly how I first got hooked on it. I keep a tube on my desk, in my bag and on my nightstand at home!
There is one free in this months Marie Claire magazine 🙂
Top stuff, I must pick a few issues up then!!
