When I wear my hair up in a messy bun or a neater bun, I sometimes feel like it’s missing something and looks a bit prim. Back in the late 80s and 90s, I’d whack a neon fluoro scrunchie and rock it out.
As a 30yr old I think I am over scrunchies, regardless of how many times i’m told they are acceptable again!
I have been adding an elasticated bracelet over the base of my hair to add an edgy or coordinated look. When stocking up on cheapy costume jewellery, I always pick up a couple of extras to wear in my hair. A £1 stretchy studded bracelet is a heck of a lot cheaper than a £15 ‘hair decoration’ which is essentially the same thing!
Yesterday, I rocked a bun adorned with a rose gold stud decoration. The day before it had been a thicker silver wide bracelet cuff with a messy curly bun poking out of the top. I am getting a lot of compliments on this and people are very shocked when I tell them it’s a bracelet!
You are only ever limited by your imagination – remember that!
I like it the rose gold works in your hair, I do this too with cheap stretchy ones from Primark 🙂
