If you like Pina Colada’s, getting caught in the rain…. Jimmy Buffett had it write, penning those lyrics to his famous song.
Pina Coladas just ooze summer time and images of beaches and cocktails in the sun, so it’s perfect timing that The Body Shop have released their take on the classic for summer – Pinita Colada.
With a core line of 4 products and a gift box selection, the Pinita Colada fragrance marries pineapple and coconut together in a light and subtle scent. It leans more towards the fresh side of the pineapple but the coconut brings up the rear in a non-cloying sickly way.
From the range, my favourite products are the shower gel (£5) and the body sorbet (£8). There is also a scrub (£15) and body butter (£14)
The shower gel lathers so well which means a little goes a very long way and gives you holiday vibes for ages. The smell lingers on the skin for a couple of hours or until you apply extra body products.
As much as the body butters may be a cult product, I find them too heavy for me for the most part of the year and I really prefer the body sorbet. The light whipped texture of the sorbet feels cooling on the skin but still delivers moisture and nourishment. The tube is slightly more travel friendly and you can apply it a lot quicker. Keep the sorbet in the fridge and it feels incredible to slather yourself in after a shower on a hot day in Blighty!
I had expected the scent to be more pow pow in your face and more ‘holiday’ like sun tan lotion but this is a delicate subtle offering and makes it much more wearable every day without some smart arse asking if you are wearing sun tan lotion in the office!
