Happy Mothers Day

Until 2012, my Mam and I had a good relationship but when my Dad passed away we became such a solid pair, I couldn’t quite believe it. I will truly never find a best friend like my Mam.

Just before Christmas my Grandma passed away. My Mam’s Mam. My Grandma was quite possibly the most AMAZING 90yr old you will ever meet. Awkward, funny, interesting, fearless, bold… all the things a person should be. She had a large hand in raising me when I was small and both my parents worked and I know i’d not be the person I am today without the influence of either of these women in my life.

I love them both more than words could ever describe.

Premurosa Make Me Feel Good Gift Subscription

Premurosa Make Me Feel Good 1

Premurosa is small, local independent business based in the North East of England, Durham to be precise, and takes a little inspiration from Italy. Premurosa in Italian means thoughtful and a thoughtful gift is indeed what landed through my letterbox recently!

The Make Me Feel Good box (£20)* is monthly subscription scheme which is jam-packed full of glitz and goodness to really make you feel good! From the minute I opened the sleek branded packaging, I found myself covered in shiny sparkles and confetti which instantly brightened my mood. Peelingback the bold purple tissue paper revealed my feel good gifts.

The Balmoral Bar, Edinburgh

The Balmoral Bar Edinburgh

Something a little bit different for Food Friday this week as it’s alcohol not food!

I have always wanted to stay at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh but as we visit regularly for weekend trips by car, it has never been the best place to choose for convenience. We have never got round to having afternoon tea in the Palm Court or drinks – it’s a crying shame.

A couple of weeks ago we snapped up some bargain East Coast train tickets and took ourselves off to Edinburgh for the day with my sole purpose of having drinks in The Balmoral Bar. I was a lady on a mission and as long as there was alcohol involved, it was easy to convince Paul.

Land Rover Owners Experience Day Review

Land Rover Owners Experience Day

When purchasing a new Land Rover or Range Rover you are given a Land Rover Owners Experience Day (£225) held at one of the Land Rover accredited off roading sites across the country. For us, Yorkshire was the closest so we found ourselves booking a midweek stay at the Coniston Hotel who host the site. You can read a full review of our stay HERE.

On arrival, we were welcomed by friendly staff and shown to the abundantly supplied waiting area. After a quick cuppa and obligatory custard cream, our tutor for the day came to collect us. We felt instanly at ease with our instructor and Katie was fully included just as much as I was.

As I had just bought a brand new Freelander and I am new to the Land Rover family I chose to do the Land Rover Owners Experience Day in the same model so that I could really find out what the car can do – without breaking mine; I am well aware of the merits of the Freelander on paper but I really wanted to put it through it’s paces in person! Of course Katie would have chosen the Defender. I’m sure if you cut her in half, she’d say Defender through the middle.
