Did you know that it is really hard to single handedly fill the boot of a Mercedes with massive helium balloons? Planning a small impromptu baby shower was hard work! This is how my first trip to Jesmond Dene House for Afternoon Tea began and thankfully it ended on a much less stressful note!
On a wet and rainy Saturday afternoon, I whisked my Mam away for a decadent afternoon of cakes, tea and several Gin & Tonics in the luxurious confines of Slaley Hall for one of their excellent G&Tea afternoon teas (£21.35pp).

What’s better than a warm soft cookie? Only a muffin sized cookie that oozes warm salted caramel and is loaded with chocolate chips! I’m also totally claiming cookie muffins as my own!
