Alexandra Burke & MUA – Lip Boom

Alexandra Burke & MUA – Lip Boom

Hello Lovelies,

I haven’t been this excited about a lip product since my favourite Chanel lippy appeared on Buyapowa and then landed on my doormat. I just couldn’t wait to schedule these reviews in, I HAD to share them now now now!

Needless to say, MUA, the pioneer of the highstreet has come up trumps again, teaming up with Alexandra Burke to bring out LIP BOOM. A 4 in 1 lip product.

I will do a full review of each of these in time but I am so excited to get swatching them I just had to share some snaps of them with you now!!

LMK Let Me Know is a gorgeous matte purpley red colour with a light pink foiled balm

OMG  is a matte pink toned coral that isn’t all too disimilar to Nectar with an irridescent goldy, greeny, orangey balm in a coral base

OK.COM is matte cool toned nude with great pigmentation. I can’t tell if this shares the same balm as OMG or not as they just look so similar in the tube. I stand to be corrected with this.

All 3 colours are pigmented really well, the matte lipstick isn’t too drying and as a 4 in 1 product its a great way to update your look this summer without spending too much money.

Once again MUA have given us another fantastic product. I’m travelling a LOT this summer and I know i’ll have one or 2 of these tucked away in my handluggage to update my look without the bulk of taking 4 or 8 lip products!

Proper reviews will come very shortly and look out for a great little Alexandra Burke giveaway!

MUA & Love Hearts lip balm – Great Lips

MUA & Love Hearts lip balm – Great Lips

Hello Lovelies,

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this lip balm. There, I said it.

Fresh from the recent collaboration between MUA & Love Hearts sweeties, this lip balm pot formed part of the collection along with some other goodies.

Great Lips is a wonderfully pigmented balm in a neutral nude shade. To say it’s a balm undersells it somewhat. I’d say it’s a lip gloss in a tub as the pigmentation is much better than a traditional lip balm.

As you know, I have quite rosy pigmented lips and Great Lips tackles that with ease giving me a gorgeous, glossy nude hue across my lips.

The balm has lived in my handbag since the day I got it and it is perfect for mid day touch ups on the move when you don’t have a mirror to hand or don’t want to be too polished with a lipstick formula. A quick dab of Great Lips and you have glossy perfection in a flash.

I have a lot of love for MUA (except for their pressed powders but that’s a whole different story!) and this is another product that is on top form and worth of much higher reputation.

If I could liken them to anything, it would be the Sleek Pout Polishes but at a lower price and higher quality, it doesn’t bare thinking about which one I’d recommend you to buy! It does have a slight scent, not of love hearts, but once on the lips you can’t smell it or taste it and it certainly isn’t off putting.

Despite a bright red lip being my “trademark” amongst friends and twitter followers, I am a sucker for a perfect nude lip, but being of the more pigmented lip persuasion I find it a hard look to rock… not with this! I can now happily have both! Yay!

Are you an MUA fan? What is your favourite nude lip gloss?

KMS Flat Out Spray

KMS Flat Out Spray

Hello my lovelies,

I am of the fuzzy haired persuasion. I beat my processed curly locks in to submission but sometimes that pesky humidity or foggy dampness in the air ruins the best laid plans.

I have recently been getting in to KMS products and have discovered their Flat Out Spray. After styling my hair, either big blow dry, straightened or curled, I use Flat Out as a final finishing spray to lock and hold in my style as a barrier against moisture in the air.

What a life saver this little spray of wonder has been so far! I have been out in drizzle and fog and my style has stayed as it should, even after a extremely sweaty gym session I don’t get any of my usual ringlets around my hair line. HUZZAH!

The spray has a light but pleasant smell that lingers nicely in the air and it does not affect the texture of the finished style. No mattifying or texturising just an invisible pleasure to use.

I have been using a small can of Flat Out so that I can carry it in my handbag for touch ups on the go but because the mist is so fine I have been getting loads of use out of the dinky little can.

The KMS Flat Out Spray (and my mini Batiste!) has become a handbag hero and I totally recommend it if you get the fuzzles from moist air.

EDIT – I am aware that the Flat Out anti humidity is now known as HAIRSTAY anti humidity spray due to a re-packaging towards the end of 2011. The product is exactly the same.I am using the old style can as above but the new one looks like this, so keep an eye out for that too!

Have you tried KMS before?

GHD Style & Protect set

GHD Style & Protect

I’m was one of those seemingly rare breed of women that didnt own GHDs and truth be known, I had no interest in owning a pair of actual GHD irons – until I bought my own. I have however been trying out the GHD Style & Protect Set.
