Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub

Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub

Sun, air con and liquid lipsticks can all ravage the delicate skin on your lips. We all know that adding moisture back in is the way forward but how many of us uses scrubs?  The Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub (£12) is the perfect way to get rid of those dry flaky bits that stop your lips looking their best.

There’s a definite love him or hate him divide (I’m on team love) but Jeffree has risen from Myspace personality through the ranks of music and fashion and in to cosmetics. Jeffree Star Cosmetics  mainly focus on liquid lips and blinding highlighters but there’s a couple of eye shadow palettes and a range of lipsticks too.

No matter how great the formula is on a liquid lip, prolonged use over a couple of days leaves my lips dry and a bit flaky so I have been reaching for the Velour Lip Scrub to buff my lips to perfection. Air travel, air con and summer sun zaps the moisture from my lips too and as hard as I try to keep on top of it, the dreaded flakies appear.

The Root Beer flavour is strong but not over powering which makes the Velour Lip Scrub a tasty treat to use. Anything Root Beer flavoured gets my vote!

Gluten free, vegan and 100% cruelty free, the Velour Lip Scrub is edible so you can touch up on the go if you need to. Apply and lick it off – simple!

This does of course draw comparisons to the long running lip scrub from Lush but I have to say I prefer Velour Lip Scrub. I feel it’s grittier but leaves a more nourish  feel behind which will be due to the Jojoba Oil, Grape Seed Oil and Vitamin E. It comes in 9 different flavours too!

Of course you don’t have to use the scrub with rest of the Jeffree Star line, but it is a great way to dip your toe in to the brand.

I have my eye on the Pumpkin Spice Latte scrub next!

Have you tried anything from Jeffree Star Cosmetics?

It’s the colour of a frosty cold root beer……. Which is making my mouth water for one!
