I think everyone of a certain age has either bought or can remember the hype around the launch of the original YSL Touche Eclat highlighting pen. It’s now over 20yr old and has new sisters in the stable in the shape of the YSL Touche Eclat foundation and today’s hot topic review The Touche Eclat Blur Primer (£29.50).
Read on to see what I think….
I bought this on a bit of a whim, I’d gone out with my heart set on buying the Guerlain primer but after trying it I was so unimpressed so I stalked a few more make up counters until I landed on YSL.
With gold flecks held in suspension, the primer not only looks but feels like pure opulence. I thought it was reasonably priced though compared to the other one
which was over £40! pffft!
The Touche Eclat Blur primer’s lightweight gel consistency has a dose of silicone in it so buyer beware if that’s not your thing. The gold flecks are absored in with the primer and aren’t visible on the skin so no risk of glitter face! You do look a little brighter but it’s definitely not an illuminating primer.
Applying smoothly, like a dream, the primer blurs the fine lines and texture differences on my skin and allows my foundation to glide over effortlessly for a long lasting blurred out finish.
I sometimes struggle with matte foundations in the winter months on dry skin but I haven’t had to worry as they sit comfortably on the skin all day.
Price wise, it’s pretty on par with a lot of other brands and as such a small amount goes a long way, it works out to be great value for money.
Have you tried any of the YSL Touche Eclat range?

I’ve not tried this but it looks SO good! I have just picked up a Bourjois primer that I’m loving though so don’t think I can justify this just yet. One for the wishlist!
