High street favourite, The Body Shop is on the ball with skin care heroes at present and the Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask (£22) is no exception.
Aimed at combating the first signs of ageing, the Drops of Youth collection promises to make skin look smoother and brighter while delivering a dose of instant hydration.
The thick gelatinous product comes with a handy spatula to help you apply the right amount as a little goes a long way. I like to take 1 heaped scoop full and warm it slightly between my fingers and then gently massage in to my face, paying particular attention to my dry areas. It feels super cooling and refreshing as it applies which is a nice way to end a long day, just before you hop in to bed.
As it is an overnight product, it absorbs in to the skin quickly and doesn’t leave any residue – no pillows were harmed in the testing of this product! In the morning my skin felt extremely plump and refreshed and felt lovely and soft even after washing it off.
I did experience a few angry spots after using this product but I have been ill and run down which is usually my prime time for getting spots so I unfortunately cannot advise which was the cause but I haven’t had any further reaction. I do have extremely sensitive skin though so bear that in mind!
It hasn’t put me off using it and I like to keep it as a ‘treat’ product for after those long hard days we all seem to have. £22 may seem a lot for a skin care product from a high street store but a little really does go a long way and you’ll get a whole lot of use from 1 pot.
The Drops of Youth serum concentrate is next on my list!
