If you can remember my review of the Chanel lipstick in 99 Pirate HERE, you’ll know I do love a bit of Chanel red. Well any red really as it really is my ‘signature look’.
Like the Tom Ford lipstick, I bought this at the airport to make savings, paying around £5 less than the rrp of £26
Pirate is an opaque gloss in a beautifully glossy vibrant red colour. It doesn’t last all that long but it is perfect to pair over a matte red or as a wearable every day red without the ‘drama’ of a bolder lipstick. I have been lining my lips with a Sephora waterproof lip liner and then using this over the top for a longer lasting look.
Luxe packaging does make it feel a little bit special when you use it, but I find the extended wand to be helpful for sweeping on across the cupids bow, allowing me to really get in to accentuate it.
Worth a buy if you are a red lipstick obsessive like myself, or just fancy a treat. Red is a staple that never lets you down, whatever the season or occasion
