Cast your mind back to mid 2013 I had a bit of a crush on these neon pink studded hi tops from Hunter. Labelled as festival shoes I just thought they were the perfect antidote to grey miserable autumn and winter while staying practical for puddle jumping.
Thanks to a handy sale at Christmas on the Hunter website I was lucky enough to pick up these Millbank for £60 (£89 rrp). With free (and VERY speedy) courier delivery thrown in, I was a happy lady when they arrived. Unfortunately for me, but lucky for you, they are currently £45 on site.
Made from athe vulcanised rubber that you associated with wellingtons, textured to imitate leather and the trademark quality and branding from Hunter, the Millbanks are comfortable enough to wear all day long. That is admittedly unlike most tradition wellingtons which start to make your feet ache after a while due to the lack of arch support. Lined with a soft fabric and soft innersole they keep your feet dry and toasty warm when the winter chill is striking up on frosty mornings. The eyelets are all secure and the studs are reassuringly well attached – which for an £89 pair of shoes, you would hope they would be.
The Millbank is wider than your average Converse Hi Top, with a little bit of give due to the rubber, which means they can now cater for the unfortunate soles / souls who are cursed with wide feet and are crippled by Converse – me included!
Available in neon pink, neon yellow or neon green, the Millbank is still available at the sale price on the Hunter website HERE.
