Last week was one of my oldest friends birthday so we took ourselves off to Miller & Carter to celebrate in style and the lovely Vicky from Describe the Sky also joined us.
Having previously been a bar venture by Ant & Dec, the Miller & Carter chain have landed in Newcastle in an imposing, grand building in a prime location on Moseley Street, between the ‘Diamond Strip’ and the restaurant run of Grey Street and Dean Street.
If you can remember, last month we visited The Herb Garden for their Secret Dinner. Having not tried the standard menu, we vowed to venture back… and we did.

News broke yesterday of a new UK route from the American airline United.
Newcastle (my home airport) will be the proud new base point for a flight to New York.
Running an almost daily service in to Newark Liberty Airport (EWR), each flight departs at a delightfully civilised time of 09:10 getting in to Newark for noon.
The outbound flights run Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with inbound omitting the Tuesday flight.
The summer season route will run from May 2015 until September 2015.
With United having a whole heap of internal routes, it will make a great hub for us Northerners to explore more of America without travelling to London or Manchester.
United are also members of the Star Alliance network which means you can earn and burn air miles on a variety of other airlines!
