Hello Lovelies,
Recently, I have been trying to embrace a wider range of high street make up brands that I would never normally use. Today’s turn is Revlon and it’s Photoready Perfecting Primer.
As we all know, even the longest lasting foundation doesn’t stand a chance without a base. My usual primers of choice are quite silicone based with lots of slip to allow me to achieve a flawless, buffed finish to the skin without feeling caked. I’m quite picky though, sometimes a primer is too slippy and when combined with a ‘dewy’ foundation I feel like my face is running down my neck sometimes, if you know what I mean?
The Photoready looks quite unassuming in the bottle. A milky white colour with a gel / cream hybrid texture. 2 small pumps from the hygenic dispenser has my face covered but not overloaded. I think 1 pump would be too sparse, but great if you only want to target your T zone.
Odourless and non sticky, the product glides and soaks in quickly leaving perfectly plumped, primed skin. I don’t have any major areas of concern with my facial skincare so I can’t comment on whether it works well with enlarged pores and wrinkles BUT it does give the most gorgeous velvety finish I’ve seen from a highstreet primer and I’ve sampled quite a few.
I picked this primer up while it was on offer in Boots with £3 off. It does sit in the higher price end for high street primers but when compared to L’oreals £14 tiny offering, this is huge old bottle which makes the unit price seem a little better.
Would I repurchase this primer at full price? No, I’d like to try other brands from the high street. Would I buy it again on offer? Without shadow of a doubt. My make up lasted all day without any oxidisation, slip or dulling and it provided a flawless base for both my ‘dewy’ foundations as well as matte formulas which I often find cloying.
You can pick up the Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer at any good Revlon concession stand.
