The Best Egg Nog Recipe

The Best Egg Nog Recipe

I’ve tried a fair few store bought versions and DIY recipes for Egg Nog over the years as the Husband loves it for a festive tipple but this is by far the best version yet!

Easily transferable from alcoholic to booze free, give it a try this Christmas as it is so easy!

3 extra brownie points if you can guess which film we are giving a nod to in the last photo!

Barca Art Bar & Restaurant – Tynemouth

Barca Tynemouth

Bit out of our stomping ground but as Paul’s Dad lives in Tynemouth, we made the trip North for a good old fashioned Sunday Roast at Barca.

Barca Art Bar & Restaurant is slap bang amongst the action in the middle of Front Street with a cosy, quirky bar downstairs and a more spacious and even quirkier dining room upstairs. With an obvious nod to the Art part of the name, the walls are lined with pieces from local artists both for display and sale.

Spaghetti Pie Recipe

spaghetti pie recipe

While browsing Twitter I spotted a recipe that Adam Richman had posted from his latest book – Spaghetti Pie. I was in that dreaded post lunch slump when I was counting down the minutes, seconds and hours until tea time and hit the jackpot.

Not a master piece but it hits the spot.https://www.ladyfromatramp.co.uk/category/food/

The Punch bowl, Satley

The Punch Bowl Satley

In an aim to bring you more reviews from Durham, we have upped our visits to cute country pubs…. And everyone loves a country pub lunch don’t they? The Punch Bowl in Satley is 5 minutes from the A68 and 15 minutes drive from Durham City. We live quite close to Satley and always drive through but haven’t visited so just before Christmas, we took the time to visit. The village is quite remote and rural so please do bare that in mind when you decide to visit!

Bierrex, Newcastle

Bierrex, Newcastle

We recently paid visit to Bierrex which opened at the end of 2014. As part of the De Giorgi family empire, the hop and smoke venue is inhabiting  the old Popolo premises on Pilgrim Street which is a handy walk away from the shops. It is in pleasant company along with the sister bars such as Dat Bar and  it’s next door neighbours Alvinos and Paradiso. View Post
