Café Royal Newcastle

Cafe Royal Newcastle

Café Royal, on Nelson Street in Newcastle city centre, is one of those places that we all have on our list. You always mean to try it but never get round to it.

After seeing a fellow foody rave about their visits over on Twitter, we finally bit the bullet and paid a visit for breakfast. It was a toss up between here and Tyneside Café but as we passed here first, we ducked in.

I am firmly on the fence in regards to Café Royal and you can read why……

The Staiths Cafe, Gateshead

The Staiths Cafe

Tucked away in a modern residential development, The Staiths Cafe is a jewel in it’s crown. With a stunning view over the iconic, listed Staiths on the banks of the River Tyne, the cafe is a great place to relax away from the hustle and bustle of city centre life.

Collection – All About Eyes Palette

Collection All About Eyes Palette 3

When Collection launched this Little Mix inspired shadow set I was a bit dubious because I wasn’t impressed with the colour pay off from their 9 pan eye shadow palettes.

After seeing some recent rave reviews I caved and tried the All About Eyes palette as I thought it would be the most versatile for me due to the gorgeous goldy bronzes to compliment my blue eyes and it’s rather dinky too which means its great for travel.

The Orchid, Newcastle

The Orchid Newcastle

The Orchid Newcastle

When the lovely folks over at the Copthorne Hotel on Newcastle’s Quayside got in touch and asked me to help them create a Bloggers Guide to Newcastle, I jumped at the chance.  We were kindly sent off to review The Orchid* Chinese restaurant which is across the road from the hotel in an old Bonded Warehouse.

On entering, we were greeted with great customer service and beaming smiles whilst being shown to our table. With several seating areas throughout the restaurant as well as a private room, each table is afforded the relative luxury of being well spaced from their neighbour, a rarity in most restaurants it would seem. Chic contempory interior and well dressed staff exuded an air of class and quality.

Tango, Durham

Tango Durham Review

Tango sits nestled in to the side of Elvet bridge in Durham and comes from the same stable as The Townhouse and Zen Thai. Both stalwarts on the Durham scene. We had previously heard a few shaky reviews of Tango when it first opened but decided to give it a go to see for ourselves. Boy are we glad we did.

Arriving at noon on a Saturday, we had our choice of seats, which was a good thing as by 1pm, every seat in the room was taken. In a city centre, to be full an hour after opening seems like a stellar accomplishment.
