Ever late to the party, we finally visited Lane 7 for a date day filled with food, beer and some man vs wife competition.

The Blackbird, Ponteland

The Blackbird Ponteland Newcastle Review

On quite possibly the rainiest day of the year, we ventured to The Blackbird in Ponteland to sample the delicious delights.

Thanks to extensive restorations carried out throuh the years, The Blackbird can proudly call the old Ponteland Castle home. Although destroyed in 1388, areas can still be found in the building such as the tower and gorgeous Tudor fireplace.

New Board Inn – Langley Park, Durham

New Board Inn Langley Park Review

County Durham is famed for many a wonderful thing but what the county does exceptionally well in is hearty home cooked meals in cosy quaint country pubs. Everyone loves a drive in to the country and a pub lunch by a roaring fire, right?

The New Board Inn dominates the village of Langley Park from its home atop the steepest hill in the area which affords its visitors a beautiful panoramic view. Once inside, the quaint bar side dining and bright sunny dining room may suggest a fairly standard, run of the mill dining experience but don’t let that fool you.

Kingslodge Inn, Durham

Kingslodge Inn Durham Review

Dominating the former Finbarr’s restaurant, Kingslodge Inn have arrived and made their mark in a sleepy corner of Durham city centre.

Hidden in a little oasis of calm, backed with woodland of Flass Vale, the pub is only 10 minute walk from both the bus station, train station and student accommodation.

We tried out the newest member of the Inn Collection family to put it through its paces.
