Kingslodge Inn, Durham

Kingslodge Inn Durham Review

Dominating the former Finbarr’s restaurant, Kingslodge Inn have arrived and made their mark in a sleepy corner of Durham city centre.

Hidden in a little oasis of calm, backed with woodland of Flass Vale, the pub is only 10 minute walk from both the bus station, train station and student accommodation.

We tried out the newest member of the Inn Collection family to put it through its paces.

Thaikhun, Metrocentre, Gateshead

Thaikhun Metrocentre Review

Have you visited the Metrocentre since it revamped and expanded the eateries available in the Qube? There’s plenty of choice from the big chains and usual suspects but our favourite is Thaikhun which offers a taste of Thai street food right here in the North East.

Jesmond Dene House – Newcastle

Early Evening Menu Jesmond Dene House Review

One of my favourite places to dine in Newcastle is Jesmond Dene House. Whether it is for a formal meal, light lunch or even just a coffee, it always hits the spot and the service is second to none.

The grand hotel has increased its dining options by recently introducing a fixed price early evening special menu with an incredibly reasonable 2 courses for £20.50 and 3 for £24.50 5pm – 7pm.

Italian Farmhouse Kitchen – Coxhoe, Durham

Sonnet 43 Brewery Italian Farmhouse Coxhoe Review

If there’s one thing that can make the husband happy is the promise of real ale and good food. When I told him I had grabbed a discounted ale tasting session at Sonnet43, you can just imagine his little happy face. Especially as the onsite restaurant Italian Farmhouse Kitchen is steps away from the bar.

The Great British Cupcakery, Newcastle

The Great British Cupcakery Review

hereA couple of weeks ago, I visited the Great British Cupcakery for the first time with fellow blogger Vicky. It is one of those places I only ever seem to be in the vicinity of when it is closed so you can imagine when both of our days off lined up and we jumped at the chance to pay a visit. We actually we ate our way around Newcastle in the same day but that’s a different story!
