Tango, Durham

Tango Durham Review

Tango sits nestled in to the side of Elvet bridge in Durham and comes from the same stable as The Townhouse and Zen Thai. Both stalwarts on the Durham scene. We had previously heard a few shaky reviews of Tango when it first opened but decided to give it a go to see for ourselves. Boy are we glad we did.

Arriving at noon on a Saturday, we had our choice of seats, which was a good thing as by 1pm, every seat in the room was taken. In a city centre, to be full an hour after opening seems like a stellar accomplishment.

The Punch bowl, Satley

The Punch Bowl Satley

In an aim to bring you more reviews from Durham, we have upped our visits to cute country pubs…. And everyone loves a country pub lunch don’t they? The Punch Bowl in Satley is 5 minutes from the A68 and 15 minutes drive from Durham City. We live quite close to Satley and always drive through but haven’t visited so just before Christmas, we took the time to visit. The village is quite remote and rural so please do bare that in mind when you decide to visit!

Carlito’s, Daisy Hill, Durham

Carlitos Ristorante Review 4

Carlitos Ristorante Review 4

Part of the Durham based dining chain Hollathans, Carlito’s Ristorante has taken up residence in a converted pub in Daisy Hill, bringing Italian food to the Durham countryside. In a village slap bang between Chester le Street and Durham, it remains a stones throw from other properties such as Hollathans in Chester le street and The Chester Moor which I reviewed HERE.
