Raby Castle, Durham

Raby Castle

If you ever hear me talking, you will know how proud I am to be from Durham. A Durham lass born and bred, damned proud of not only our beautiful history city, but the county itself. When I finally got the chance to visit Raby Castle again recently, I knew I had to share it with you all!

The Miners Arms, Medomsley, Consett

The Miners Arms Medomsley Review

Unless you are from certain part of Durham, the only time you have probably heard of Medomsley is it being the home of the ill fated Phileas Fogg crisps from yesteryear that revamped not that long ago.  Hopefully after you read this review, you’ll know that Medomsley is the home to a cracking country pub that you must visit called The Miners Arms.

High Force Waterfall, Teesdale, Durham

Tucked away in a little corner of the Raby Castle Estate, High Force Waterfall sits on the edge of the Pennines in a beautiful scenic forest.

Most local people have probably been on a school trip but have you ever been back?

Back at the end of last year, my fair old city was graced with a night time food market – The Full Moon Market – by the crew behind the Durham Street Food Project.

I am all for more things like this happening in Durham, so I will be there again with bells on and I hope to see some of you there too for tasty treats!

Hopefully we will see more from regulars Papa Ganoush, Fat Hippo and Scream Pizza.
