As you will know, we are flipping Christmas on it’s head this year and serving Beef for Christmas Dinner. This has brought a whole new world of researching I have had to do to ensure I have picked the ultimate wine pairings for the meal…. of course the festive wines don’t just stop at the main event… think about every glass of fizz or wine you have throughout December. It’s all a complex pairing mission!
If like me you aren’t a fan of chocolate advent Calendars, there has never been much choice for us. Now that we have a myriad of toys, booze and beauty advent calendars, there was still one thing missing. A Cheese Advent Calendar.
This year to break tradition, we are having Beef for Christmas Lunch for the first time so I have been doing a lot of research about which red wine would be best to serve. Merlot Wine is totally outside of my area of expertise so it’s been a learning curve for sure.
Whenever I think of red wine, I think of winter, spices, roaring log fires – the perfect Christmas Lunch accompaniment, right?
OK so I am panicking about picking the perfect red wine for the big day!
Taking up an unassuming corner of Ouseburn, you’ll find the Brinkburn Street Brewery. One of my most recommend must-try places in Newcastle for delicious, value for money food and a relaxed atmosphere for a drink.
Now just look at that. Behold it. Soak it all in. It’s a treat for the eyes isn’t it? This is Newcastle’s best hot chocolate from Proven Goods Co
