Every girl needs a pair of shoes that makes them feel bad ass. For some it’s killer heels, for me it’s these brand new Dr Martens Joyce Heart brogues.
These beauties had been on my wish list for a while but as they were a special release for earlier in 2018 I thought I’d missed my chance. Imagine my sheer joy when the Husband managed to snap a pair up from the Dr Martens website – Dr Martens Joyce Heart brogues (£125).
He outdid himself with my 2018 birthday surprise!
Built as well and sturdily as you’d imagine for the cult brand, the Dr Martens Joyce Heart brogues run narrower than their usual styles. I sized up for comfort and I have not had any issues with rubbing or hot spots. Yes the leather is thick and stiff and will need softening but that’s about it. I can even drive in them.
To style them, I’ve been pairing them with skinny jeans and ankle grazer cigarette pants to nod a bit of retro androgyny. I was worried they’d look a little too manly but the heart and the leopard print softens up the look.
