Is that a cloud on the horizon? No, it’s a PIZZA STORM! Yes you heard right. The all new pizza gaff in Newcastle is called Pizzastorm and in their first restaurant outside of London, the Greys Quarter of Intu Eldon Square is now home.
A fast food pizza concept is pretty new, outside of the realms of greasy pizza shops for those post 2am hunger pangs. Cooking a Pizzastorm pizza in a rapid 180 seconds, you can be in and out and on your way lightening quick. The only delay to the whole process is you. Trust me, you’ll be on for ages choosing your toppings.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s some bloody good pizza places in Newcastle, without a doubt but for city centre convenience of a quick meal, this hits the spot.
With 50 fresh toppings to choose from as well as finishing touches like rocket and flavoured oils, the hardest part is making a decision. Pizzastorm have a set of suggested pizzas to choose from or for £8.45 you can get an 11” pizza with precisely what you like. There’s a small set of side dishes as well as beers and wine to wash your pizza down.
As a spicy pizza fan, I was able to pile all the hot goodies on top of the rich creamy white base sauce. Of course you can have all the cheeses too, it was too hard to resist. My vegetarian dinner date was free to pick as many fresh, crisp vegetables as she could manage .
With a £9.99 meal deal of 11” pizza, side dish and soft drink it was a really great way to get a fast and simple meal whilst out shopping.
The crisp thin crust base is cooked in a 900 degree oven in front of you and by the time you can choose your drink and help yourself to some of the tasty garlic and herb dip, your food will be done.
This looks great. I love pizza!! (of course). I will have to make this a priority on my next visit to Newcastle!
