Beautiful Winter Weddings

Beautiful Winter Weddings

I got married at the end of October. Yes, Spring and Summer weddings are pretty and warm and sunny but we both agreed that they sounded like hell. No one wants to sweat to death in a posh frock or suit all day or squint in to the camera for the photos – no, not our thing! Hurrah for Winter Weddings!

We got married in a castle and we think it perfectly suited the wintery weather as it meant we could decorate with beautiful church candles and the whole day felt cosy and so pretty. Even if I could get married again, it would still be in the colder months. Flying the flag for off-season nuptials, I have 3 stunning winter weddings to show you.

Happy Anniversary

9th wedding anniversary

It is our 9th wedding anniversary today. 9 whole years of being married. Not bad going for a 32yr old I guess, especially as we have been together for 14yr in total!

We had a civil ceremony in a beautiful 11th Century Castle in Northumberland surrounded by 32 acres of beautiful countryside. We had the place to ourselves and it was a magical day, not having to share our big day with any other wedding parties.

Private use was very important to us and of course it took a lot longer to save up but it’s not something I’d ever change –  I would change the guest list though but that’s a whole different story!

Happy Anniversary Paul

Rockabilly Wedding Outfits

Rockabilly Wedding Outfits

Hello Lovelies,

If you haven’t already seen my post on our Las Vegas rockabilly wedding, you can read it HERE.

I thought I would do a break down and show you what we wore to our big kitsch day as lots of people had asked for it on Twitter. You can see pictures of us actually wearing our wedding outfits in the Wedding thread too.My favourite part of my whole outfit had to be my Links of London 20/20 necklace. As my Mam couldn’t be there, it was nice to have a little piece of her with me, as I bought us matching 20/20 necklaces last summer when my father passed away. You can see the post HERE

So as you can see, we certainly didn’t have a traditionally dressed vow renewal wedding and I always knew I didn’t want to wear white!

What would you wear to a Rockabilly wedding? Is Black too bold for a traditional wedding?
