My Summer Make Up Bag Essentials

Summer Make Up Essentials

As a very rare break in the schedule, I am bringing you a guest post from the lush Lindsay Davison from www.lindsaydavison.co.uk. I’m handing the reigns over to Lindsay and her post on Summer Make Up Essentials.

Her NE based blog covers everything from beauty to style and has the most dreamy Instagram account to go with it!

Although a typical British Summer means VERY temperamental weather most of the time, we do get some spells are extremely hot days! When this happens, I always have to re-jig my makeup routine and really strip it back – otherwise I spend the day with it melting off my face (what an image…)!
I like products that are quick and simple to apply, but that are effective and long-lasting to get be through the day
With all this in mind, I thought I’d empty our my Summer make up bag, and share my bare essentials for Summer make up with you all!

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette Beauty Glow

I mainly use the eyeshadows and the highlighter from this palette, as they are great for a bit of super quick, day-to-day glam before work! The bronzer and blush are also great, and the palette as a whole is great for your jollies!

Nars Orgasm Blush

This cult classic is popular for a reason! The perfect Summer blush in my opinion; light, finely milled, and has a gorgeous gold glow! The rubber-like packaging does get a little grubby though…

Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation

I love this for a number of reasons, actually. The texture is so lightweight and comfortable, and the coverage can be built from light to full really easily! My sister is forever telling me it also smells ‘expensive’, whenever I let her use it; which has to be a plus!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

Unlike the Lancome foundation, this one is really sheer and super light weight. I mainly use this for it’s amazing complexion-evening effect, when I can’t be bothered with a full face but don’t want to look half dead…!

NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow

Not really too sure how I managed before I had this beauty. I have no idea how it does it, but it is the perfect base for powder shadow, and stops any creasing when that oily-eye syndrome comes over me half way through the day!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder – Dim Light

I bought this last year and used it all Summer and absolutely loved it! The quickest and easiest way to beautifully healthy glow for day and night looks! I can’t get enough of it! It’s a little pricey, but has lasted me so well all year long, and is still nowhere near touching pan! I love it!

YSL Glossy Stain

I bought this ages ago and didn’t really get much use out of it til this Summer. It’s a super sheer, gorgeous shade for summer and feel so comfortable to wear when you’re trying to fight the irritation of the heat!

Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Bitch Perfect Lipstick

I have quite a few Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks, but Bitch Please is shade that been calling to me this Summer. A pinky-peach with a satin finish, that’s perfect for my fair skin and topped with a shade name that’s so ‘me’…

Morphe Deluxe Oval Shadow Brush

Honestly, I don’t know what it’s actually ‘intended’ for, but this brush is my saviour when it comes to packing on colour in a hurry. It always leaves an amazingly even finish and is so easy to control.

Anastasia Bev Hills Dip Brow Pomade

In my opinion, the best eyebrow product of them all! Together with the matching angle brush, I get my fleeky brows in no time! It’s so really easily manage the shape and density of brow that I want that day because of the sharpness of the brush and the texture of the pomade. And it doesn’t budge – like, at all! I just love this stuff!

So that’s it for my Summer make-up bag round up – I hope you enjoyed reading! If you want to see more of my beauty and lifestyle posts, feel free to check out my blog – www.lindsaydavison.co.uk!
