Just look at the beauty of this palette. Part of the Holidays 2016 limited edition collection, the 5 new powders in the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light (£69) is sure to be top of a lot of Christmas wish lists.
I have been coveting the seasonal curated edits that Hourglass are famed for but I haven’t been completely sold on all the colours in the palettes. And at £70 each, I sure as hell want to be sure I will get my wear out of them.
When I first spotted the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Surreal Light palette I knew I had to have it. With 5 exclusive new shades on a golden peachy bronze spectrum, this will highlight and warm up your complexion. The packaging is blogger-tastic in it’s grey and whitle marble hues too.
With 1 larger finishing powder (Surreal Light), a bronzer (Surreal Bronze Light), 2 blushes (Surreal Glow + Surreal Effect) and a highlighter (Surreal Strobe Light) the palette is a one stop shop for that soft, candlelit glow from within that has made Hourglass infamous.
Finely milled and as soft as butter, the powders are soft and delicate. Delivering their gentle pigment and an incandescent glow that needs to be seen to be believed. Your skin just glows. A radiance that looks like you get a full 8hrs sleep, eat clean and drink lots of water.
It’s pretty hard to photo the luminosity in the powders so I have had to overcompensate with the lighting just to show it.
You won’t be overly glittery or look like a disco ball using the powders and I recommend setting your foundation with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting surreal light powder for an ethereal glow that is perfect for this time of year.
Expensive, yes. Without a doubt but the quality is worth it and with 5 different products to choose from it works out to be quite good value for money.
I picked my palette up from Space NK who offer free next day delivery on orders over £70. There’s a cheap can of dry shampoo if you need to bump it over – I did! 😉
Do you use the powder all over your face or just as a highlight? I am intrigued but not sure how to use it at all!

I use the setting powder all over and the rest of them in their target areas.
It’s really such a subtle luminous glow, you don’t look too glittery or my worse nightmare – too sweaty.
